What Is CBAL?

The California Baptist Athletic League is comprised of sports teams from Independent Baptist church schools located around Southern California. Having a desire to compete on a level that more closely matches their school philosophies and sizes, CBAL was formed in 2006 with just a handful of teams. Since then, the group has grown to include 16 teams, during our most recent basketball season, which provides sports for girls and guys. Currently, teams compete in: football (guys), basketball (guys & girls teams), volleyball (guys & girls teams), and softball (co-ed). The league has enjoyed great parity with several different schools winning championships in different sports. In addition to great competition, there has been great fellowship & camaraderie. We have enjoyed God's blessings and we look forward to another great season in 2009!

Welcome to the league command center. It is our goal that everything you need to know will be found right here on this website. Here are some explanations for the links on the left to get you started:

Main Menu:

Teams: This page provides links to each team’s contact information (for the current sports season).

Current Sports Season: These provide just about everything a person wants to know for the current sport: game schedules, league standings (listed by match date. GO TO THE MOST RECENT MATCH DATE TO GET CURRENT LEAGUE STANDINGS), game results, venue locations (including links to maps for each venue), and links to each team’s information.

Sports Calendar: Provides start and end dates for each sports season for the current academic year.

Rules, Violations, & Penalties: Self explanatory. (Rotating as each sport comes into season).

Athletic Directors:

If you are an athletic director of a cbal team, you must log-in with your user name & password in order to gain access to the “Coaches Corner.” This will have additional necessary information regarding cbal rules, fees, polls, upcoming meetings, etc.

WHY AN ADMISSIONS CHARGE?

Each school hosting a home game incurs costs for field /gym rental, referees, and other supplies related to the game (such as chalk for marking lines, downs markers, scoreboards, etc.) The charging of admission to attend each game is a way of helping to recoup some of these costs. Although everyone would like to be able to attend games free of charge, it simply is not possible to do so and still meet all the financial obligations incurred with hosting a sports event.

Everyone attending any cbal sports event should come prepared to pay a nominal entrance fee. In this way, we each help ensure that our schools can continue to provide sports for our students. Thank you for your support!
